Those who have edit permissions at account level or view level can able to create or modify the Filters in Google Analytics.
Two ways to create a Filter in Google Analytics:
1)Creating filter using Account Column
- In Analytics Dashboard, Click on Admin Tab
- Go to Account Column and click All Filters
- Click + Add Filter and give name to that filter
- Copy the widget code and save it as text file (.txt).
- You have two filter types namely Predefined & Custom
- Predefined filter types provided by Google was traffic from ISP Domain, traffic from IP Address, traffic to the Sub Directories, and traffic to the host name.
- Custom filter type to create a custom filter from the options Google provided
- Choose any of the filter type
- From the Available views list, select the views to which you want to apply the filter
- Click Add and then click Save.
2)Creating filter using View Column
- In Analytics Dashboard, Click on Admin Tab
- Go to View Column and click Filters
- Click + Add Filter and give name to that filter
- You have two filter types namely Predefined & Custom
- Predefined filter types provided by Google was traffic from ISP Domain, traffic from IP Address, traffic to the Sub Directories, and traffic to the host name.
- Custom filter type to create a custom filter from the options Google provided
- Choose any of the filter type
- From the views list, select the views to apply the filter created
- Click Add and then click Save.
